Policy, Pizza, and a Pint at the Free Press Café:

Canadian Myths and the Arctic: KD, best before dates and $40 million swimming pools

The Arctic is increasingly a focus of Canadian public policy. Now that Canada has taken over the chairship of the Arctic Council we can expect to hear even more over the next two years.  But what does it mean for Canadians and why should we care?

Come join Dr. Andrea Charron Ph.D   for Policy, Pizza and, a Pint as she busts myths about the Canadian Arctic and discusses some the public policy challenges facing us up north.

Policy, Pizza, and a Pint is an outreach series produced by the Manitoba Institute for Public Policy (MIPR) and the Winnipeg Free Press Café. Each event in the series will provide the audience with critical insights and thought provoking discussion on a different public policy topic. By engaging Manitobans and increasing access to policy experts in our community, MIPR hopes to enhance the quality of public discourse in the Province.

Each event covers a public policy issue of importance to Manitobans in an informal and informative manner while providing the audience with the opportunity to discuss and ask questions of the speaker. Each guest speaker is a content expert on the evening’s topic and will provide a 15 to 20 minute overview of the policy area or issue and why it matters to Manitobans and Canadians. This is followed by an opportunity to ask questions and engage in discussion.
