Pie. a good book.  A day with my son in it. The smell of sweet peas. A rocking chair.  Peas in the pod fresh from the garden.  Beachcombing. Berries.  Berries in pie eaten while sitting in a rocking chair across from my son reading a good book after a morning of beachcombing gazing occasionally out the window at peas on earth.

My son.  The western Arctic.  Pie. Listening to stories, telling stories, weaving myself into the stories of the world until there is nothing left of me    but a bit of thread.

What is your greatest regret?
That I waited so long to travel to the western Arctic.  I wish I had done that when I was younger.  Also, that I have not yet attended a pie contest.

What is your most treasured possession?
A picture of my son when he is 18 months old.  That day, his eyes sparkled with the light of his soul.

What do you consider your greatest achievement?
Listening to my dreams.  When I was a child I imagined going to the arctic.  As an adult, I had a dream about it one night, and then fifteen years      later I  moved there, and the community I moved to was exactly like the one in my dream.  Also, there was this mango blueberry pie….
