Spring Research Symposium

Join the Centre on Aging for our 41st Annual Spring Research Symposium, taking place

The Symposium is free to attend, all are welcome! Visit our Registration information webpage to register for this year's event. The Symposium brings together researchers, students, older adults, representatives from community organizations, health and social agencies, and government.

This year’s sessions will focus on

• smart technologies in at-home rehabilitation,
• improving age inclusivity at the University of Manitoba,
• older adults’ roles in Taiwanese Indigenous communities,
• preventing violence in long-term care,
• a framework for adult community rehabilitation, and
• in home companion robots to support wellness.

Taking place at the same time as the Spring Research Symposium, is a separate event focusing on educational programs, events, and resources available at the University of Manitoba (UM). Meet with UM representatives as part of the Age-Friendly University Showcase.

As part of this year's 41st Spring Research Symposium, attendees can connect with staff from organizations that supports or provides services for older adults. Learn about what these organizations have to offer by visiting them on May 8, in the multi-purpose room, second floor in UMSU University Centre. Taking part will be

This year's Symposium will be offered in a hybrid format. For those joining us online, sessions will be streamed in real-time (not archived). The online sessions are free to view.
