Role

Deena supports the GTP and TLC programs by providing pedagogical development for teaching assistants and faculty members.She co-chairs the learning technologies group and coordinates the T&L Community of Practice at The Centre for the Advancement of Teaching and Learning. 

Biography

For the last two decades, Deena has been involved in various educational development projects and has taught a diverse set of general and specialized courses in sciences, mathematics, statistics, and electrical engineering. She has supervised several capstone design projects and a research-oriented thesis for both masters and Ph.D. students in the field of microwave engineering. She has worked for 3+ years as a post-doctoral fellow for RMC's Electrical and Computers Department, 4+ years as an educational specialist at the Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science at Queen's University and 6+ years as a professor at St. Lawrence College, Kingston, Ontario. Her interests include Faculty and Teaching Assistants' development.

Deena has a special interest in supporting evidence-based active teaching and learning strategies in STEM Education.
