Below is a list of frequently asked questions when students are thinking about ordering textbook online.

1. I placed an order for Pickup. When will it be ready?
Orders are processed in the order they are received. You will receive a second confirmation email when your order is ready. At certain peak times of the year (September, January, May) there may be delays up to five business days. 

2. I placed an order to be shipped. When will I receive it?
Orders are processed in the order they are received. Shipping time is dependent on where the package is going and the shipping method used, and may also be affected by mail carrier volumes/delays.

3. How do I cancel my order?
Email your order number and request to bso@umanitoba.ca.

4. I placed an order and received an "order pending" email. What do I do?
This is likely due to an issue with the billing address provided. Please check that the information you provided is accurate and then email us at bso@umanitoba.ca and include your order number. DO NOT place another order.

5. I received an email that some items I ordered are backordered. What does that mean?
These items are not currently in stock. Your order will be fulfilled when they arrive. If you wish to cancel the backordered item(s), please email your order number and request to cancel to bso@umanitoba.ca.

6. I ordered a Used Textbook and received an email that my order was canceled. What does that mean?
If you ordered 'Used Only' and we do not have stock, then the order is canceled. If you want to purchase a New copy, please reorder. Consider choosing 'Allow for substitutions' if you will accept Used or New copies.

7. I placed an order and need to make a change (wrong item ordered, wrong address, etc.). What do I do?
Email your order number and request to bso@umanitoba.ca.

8. How much does it cost to ship?
Shipping costs vary based on destination, weight and shipping method chosen. The amount shown during checkout is an estimate and will be determined when your order is processed.

9. Do you ship internationally, including outside of North America?
Yes. Shipping costs vary based on destination, weight and shipping method chosen. The amount shown during checkout is an estimate and will be determined when your order is processed. You will be contacted to accept your actual charge before we ship.

10. How do I return an order?
Please first email bookstore_webmaster@umanitoba.ca to check on any return restrictions. Approved items must be refunded to the original method of payment and may be brought to the store or shipped back at your expense.

11. I received my order and something is missing. What do I do?
Email bso@umanitoba.ca with your order number and details of what is missing.

12. What payment methods can I use?
We accept VISA and MasterCard credit cards, as well as pre-paid credit cards and BookStore gift cards. We are unable to accept debit cards - including VISA debit cards - online.

13. I do not have a credit card to pay online and cannot come to the store to pay? What can I do?
Email bso@umanitoba.ca and we will do our best to help find an alternative.

14. When will my credit card be charged for my purchase?
Your credit card will be charged for your purchase once your order has physically left the BookStore or is ready for pickup.
