Dr. Mawuli Afenyo is a postdoctoral fellow at the Transport Institute. Prior to joining UMTI, he received his Ph.D. in Oil and Gas Engineering from the Memorial University of Newfoundland. He worked on the CERATIC project supported by GBP 1,707,673 in funding from Lloyd’s Register Foundation. He has also worked on projects at C-RISE. He holds an MBA from the Bologna Business school and an MSc in Petroleum Engineering from the Technical University of Turin. Dr. Afenyo received his bachelors’ degree in Civil Engineering from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology. He has worked professionally with civil engineering consulting, energy, and e-waste recycling firms. He currently works on the CAD 11,074,700 GENICE: Microbial Genomics for Oil Spill Preparedness in Canada’s Arctic Marine Environment project, the Climate Change and Adaptation Planning for Ports, and others. He is interested in collaborating with industries to provide solutions to business and engineering problems.
