The President's Task Force on Equity, Diversity and Inclusion is engaging in a series of community consultations with faculty, staff, and students to develop recommendations in response to the overall question: What is needed to ensure that EDI principles are embraced and supported within the UM community?
To aid in this endeavour, UM community members are invited to use the boxes below to share your views. All responses, including affiliation, are optional. Responses are completely anonymous unless respondents provide their names or contact information.
We define the terms equity, diversity and inclusion as follows:
Equity: the guarantee of fair treatment, access, opportunity, and advancement for all students, faculty, and staff, while at the same time striving to identify and eliminate barriers that have prevented the full participation of marginalized groups.
Diversity: all the ways that people differ, including characteristics, personal experiences, values, and worldviews.
Inclusion: the process of creating an environment in which any individual or group can be and feel welcomed, respected, supported, and valued to fully participate in all the opportunities afforded by the University.
