The University of Manitoba, University of Winnipeg and Brandon University jointly present the event, Civility and Incivility in Academia, on April 13.
All faculty members from the three universities are invited to attend.
Keynote speakers are Dr. Loraleigh Keashly, associate professor and associate dean, curricular and student affairs, College of Fine, Performing and Communication Arts, Wayne State University, and Dr. James Turk, executive director emeritus, Canadian Association of University Teachers, and distinguished visiting professor, Ryerson University.
The keynote speakers will explore issues such as academic freedom, expressive speech and misconduct and effective means for debate, disagreement and dissent.
