The Voluntary Early Retirement Program is an incentive program for encouraging eligible employees to enter retirement. Uptake on the initiative will allow units within the University to create flexibility in managing their staff complement as well as assist the University in addressing fiscal challenges. This initiative is completely voluntary, universal (available to all employee groups), and time-limited.

Eligible employees will receive an information package to help them evaluate the option of early retirement and determine if it is right for them. More information about the initiative can be found on UM Today and the Human Resources website.
