What is a Mature Student? For admission purposes the U of M considers a Mature Student to be 21 years of age or older and missing the regular high school entrance requirements.
University 1's Mature Student Program, however, provides support for all students 21 years of age and older regardless of admission status. U1 recognizes that Mature Students often need extra support to achieve their goals when balancing their studies with family, financial obligations, and other personal commitments.
What can University 1 do for Mature Students?
- Provide timely, relevant and accurate information during the academic year;
- Academic advising: in-person, by phone, via email;
- Academic advising assistance with course selection, registration, degree planning; help balancing life and school, developing strong study skills, and managing your time;
- Referrals to a large number of campus resources, such as: The Learning Assistance Centre, Career Services, Student Counseling, Financial Aid & Awards.
