MLA's Frequently Asked Questions - The MLA site has a series of frequently asked questions. Not exhaustive by any means, but it does provide answers for questions like "Should I use underlining or italics?"

MLA - This independent site offers MLA help to beginner writers on research, paper writing and citing sources for beginners, as well as useful links.

American Psychological Association (APA) - This links directly to the APA website where information on all the details of APA can be found excerpted directly from the manual.

The Chicago Manual of Style - The Chicago Manual of Style has a fairly comprehensive website with some basic examples of both the humanities style and the author-date style. Also found on this site is a search engine, which if you register, will search an electronic version of the Chicago Manual of Style.

The Ohio State University guide to the Chicago Style - "This guide is based on the The Chicago Manual of Style 15th ed. rev. (University of Chicago Press, 2003). Examples are shown for both the Author-Date style of citation recommended for natural sciences and social sciences, as well as the Notes-Bibliography style used for fine arts, history, literature, etc." (Text copied from site).

The Ohio State University guide to CBE Citation (Council of Biology Editors) - "This guide is based on Scientific Style and Format: The CBE Manual for Authors, Editors, and Publishers 6th edition, 1994.  Citation examples are provided in Name-Year format" (Ed: CBE style has two reference styles. The second one, not listed on this site is citation-sequence system).  (Text copied from site).

The University of Wisconsin-Madison guide to CBE Citation - This site lists examples for both the name-year reference system and the citation-sequence reference system.
