Excellence in Teaching Award

University 1 offers an annual award to recognize excellence in teaching among those teaching courses included on the University 1 list of Recommended Introductory Courses. This list, published on the University 1 website, includes 1000-level first year courses and 2000-level courses not requiring prerequisites. All teaching faculty appointment types are eligible for recognition.

Students are asked to nominate an instructor who taught a course on the Recommended Introductory Courses list in the 2012-13 regular session and who:

  • was instrumental in helping them make a successful academic and personal transition to the University of Manitoba; and/or
  • stimulated their interest in the subject area he/she taught; and/or
  • was enthusiastic, organized, and facilitated effective learning.

The award winner(s) are celebrated by posting their name(s) on the Wall of Recognition located on the 2nd Floor University Centre, receiving a monetary award and certificate, and an invitation to an annual reception.

Nominate a teacher for the University 1 Excellence in Teaching Award and be entered into a draw to WIN one of two $50 GIFT CERTIFICATES for the Bookstore.
