Community Engaged Learning

Local programs

Choose from a variety of programs in Winnipeg that will help you develop the skills you need to work with community.

Local programs are free and open to all UM, ICM, and ELC students, including part-time, international, and graduate students.

  • A classroom of people engaging in a conversation with each other.

    Poverty Awareness & Community Action

    Facilitate poverty awareness workshops and develop advocacy skills alongside community educators with lived experiences with poverty.

    Dates: Fall Term, Winter Term, and Summer Term
    Location: Online and various community sites in Winnipeg

    Develop your community engagement skills and support UM students in getting involved in our city!

    Land and Water: Land-Based Education

    Learn about Indigenous peoples enduring relationships with land and place, and explore Indigenous land-based knowledge systems through a seasonal lens.
