The Children Rising Mentorship Program is an innovative cross-cultural learning exchange and mentorship partnership with youth from Skownan First Nation. Learn about Anishinaabe culture through traditional ceremonies, crafts, teachings and games, while supporting young learners as they participate in the Career Trek program. You will take part in pre-program training sessions, two weekend visits to Skownan First Nation and two Saturday program days in Winnipeg. You will also be paired with a student mentee from Skownan School with whom you will be responsible for bi-weekly communication throughout the school year.

For more information about our partner organization, Career Trek, you can visit their website here.

Children Rising Mentorship Program is recommended for students interested in Indigenous cultures and approaches to education, cultural exchange and mentorship.

Participants are eligible for recognition on their Co-Curricular Record (CCR).

Application period: Late August and September
