Program Description

Learn something new about Winnipeg this Reading Week! Participants will participate the Community Leadership Development Program to develop their knowledge and skills in community development, and begin a dialogue that can be carried on throughout the program.

During Reading Week, participants engage in project-based work with Winnipeg nonprofit agencies to learn firsthand about social justice challenges and solutions in our city, and explore their role in the community. Participants also participate in reflection sessions throughout Reading Week to deepen their understanding of development challenges in Winnipeg, and discover how to critically think about the issues that exist.

Alternative Reading Week Winnipeg is offered in partnership with the University of Manitoba Student Union.

Students who successfuly complete the program are eligible for recognition on their
Co-Curricular Record (CCR).
