Saturday, June 2, 2012

As new members in our community, we invite all new students and their families to join University of Manitoba staff and students on June 2, 2012 for Head Start.

At Head Start, our goal is to help new students and their families understand what students may experience over the course of their university career.

Students: Get a Head Start on your University of Manitoba experience! Head Start is a one-day event to introduce you and your family to the U of M. Attending Head Start will help ease your transition to university life and help you succeed in your new community! At Head Start, you will:

  • get acquainted with your academic program
  • learn about the differences between high school and university
  • find out what you can expect as a new student
  • discover on-campus services and resources
  • interact with upper-year students, and hear their personal tips for success

Family and Friends: The transition to university is not only experienced by students, but by family as well. The support provided by family and friends is key in a student’s academic and personal success. Family and friends programming at Head Start is designed specifically with supporting your student in mind. You will be introduced to what your student will experience at the University of Manitoba how you can be supportive through their first year.

To get the most out of your experience, join us for informative sessions, comprehensive campus tours, and our resource fair.

Online registration is now open!
