About | Agenda | Frequently Asked Questions

When is Head Start?
Head Start will next be offered in June 2019.

Who should attend?
Head Start is designed for new students and the people who are there to support them. This means family members or friends who are supporting a student are welcome to attend.

How do I register for Head Start?
Registration will open in May 2019. To register, login to your Self-Service Centre to select the Head Start session that applies to your first year program or faculty of study (while you may have aspirations in a different area, please choose your entrance program or faculty). Please select the List View button next to "My Events" to view all of the sessions. Please register for the 'Other Faculties' section if you do not see your program or faculty listed.

Do I have to register to attend?
Yes - registration is required as space is limited.

Does my Head Start invitation mean I am accepted into U of M?
All U of M applicants are invited to attend Head Start. Getting an invitation does not indicate or guarantee admission to the University of Manitoba. If you have questions regarding the status of your admission, contact the Admissions office by phone at (204) 474-8808 (toll free at 1-800-224-7713) or via email at admissions@umanitoba.ca.

Where do I park when I come to campus?
Free parking is available during Head Start in the following lots: I, Q, P, K and A (please see the university parking map for more details).
Please note, that the University Centre parkade is NOT a free parking option.

What should I do once I get there?
Information will be emailed to you towards the end of May 2019 about where to go once you arrive on campus.

What time does Head Start begin? How long is it?
An agenda will be posted in May 2019.
