Volunteer at orientation events
Volunteer with Orientation 2024!
We're looking for returning UM students who can help welcome incoming Bisons to the University of Manitoba during Summer and Fall Orientation Events.

What does being an Orientation Volunteer involve?
We are looking for:
- General Volunteers
- Welcome students and help them find their way around campus
- Answer questions and provide directions at "Ask Me" tables
- Lead groups of students and guests between event locations
- Assist at sessions by greeting students, scanning tickets, and managing lines
- Tour Guides
- Facilitate campus tours for students and their families during events
Please note, these descriptions are subject to change. Finalized position descriptions will be posted in the coming months.
Am I eligible to volunteer?
To be eligible to sign up, you must:
- Be a returning UM student on the Fort Garry Campus
- Have a minimum of one semester of study before Summer 2023 (started at UM in Winter 2023 or earlier
Eligible volunteers will be contacted for a group interview for us to get to know you.
What are the requirements to volunteer?
As a volunteer, you must:
- Be available for Orientation event days (dates and times coming soon)
- Attend an in-person, event-specific training session relevant to the role and event you signed-up for.
Why should I volunteer?
Volunteering at Orientation is a great start to being involved on campus. Other benefits:
- meet new people and make friends
- a chance to win a gift card or other prizes at our volunteer appreciation event
- receive a notation on your Experience Record as a UM Orientation Volunteer
