The University of Manitoba Indigenous Students' Association (UMISA) is an asset to the community we serve. As members of UMISA, our strengths are to be increasingly focused, responsive and dedicated to the students we support. Our vision is to achieve excellence by working effectively and communicating with our council to build partnerships in the community.
The mission of UMISA is to maintain support for students at the U of M in a traditional way. We will provide student programs that are responsive to student needs while keeping them up to date with current information. We will provide a pleasant and non-threatening environment which encourages student participation. We will reach out to other educational institutions and community organizations for the betterment of students. We will provide leadership and access to current political, environmental, social, economic and cultural knowledge. UMISA will abide by this mission statement in accordance with ethical values recognized by society as a whole, as well as those ethical standards adopted by professional organizations presented at the U of M.
