The World W.I.S.E. Resource Centre is where you’ll be able to find all of this information and more. We have a library of international resources and information on opportunities around the world. World W.I.S.E. also hosts events and activities to promote international opportunities and awareness of global issues.

•  Summer Institute for Student Leadership and Global Citizenship

The Summer Institute for Student Leadership and Global Citzenship took place from April 28 - May 7, 2010. Learn more and find out what the participants had to say.

•  2nd Annual World WISE & CPAR Study Tour to Africa (2009):  
Three students from the University of Manitoba were selected to participate and toured the Karatu District of northern Tanzania,
visiting CPAR's project sites, meeting its community partners, and learning about how they are working together to beat poverty and build healthy communities.

This year's participants were Sarah Swan (Nursing), Jill Heinrichs (Environment/Geogrpahy) and Doug Allen (Arts). Each student raised their own money to participate in the tour, but recieved a variety of sponsorships & grants from supporters on and off campus. To make a good first impression, they carried three suit cases full of medical supplies and have donated them to a local health centre. Last year, two UofM students were selected by World WISE to travel to northern Uganda. They subsequently raised $3,400 (net) to donate to health care and income generating projects in northern Uganda.

CPAR is the organizing agency and host for the study tour. It is a Canadian NGO that works to build healthy communities in Africa. It's programs are located in Tanzania, Uganda, Ethiopia and Malawi.
