WORKSHOPS, SEMINARS, & INFORMATION SESSIONS

ICS offers workshops, seminars, and information sessions throughout the year to help international students with their transition to life in Winnipeg and to their studies at the U of M.

Volunteer English Practice Program (VEPP)

 

This program matches international students who would like to improve their conversational English skills with volunteer conversational partners. Whenever possible, students and volunteers are matched according to availability and interests.

Leadership Development Series

This popular, interactive program was specifically designed to help international students develop interpersonal and leadership skills.  Topics include foundations for leadership, facilitating group discussions, improving presentation skills, personality / cultural differences, and managing difficult situations and people. 

  • The leadership development group meets once per week for 7 or 8 weeks -- students must attend all sessions.
  • This program was developed by the ICS office and the Counselling and Career Centre. 
  • Participation is FREE.
