Both paper and coin money is used in Canada.

Canadian paper money comes in the following denominations:

 Canadian coins come in the following denominations:

  • 1¢  ($0.01) - One Cent (commonly called a “penny”)
  • 5¢  ($0.05)- Five Cents (commonly called a “nickel”)
  • 10¢  ($0.10)- Ten Cents (commonly called a “dime”)
  • 25¢  ($0.25)- Twenty Five Cents (commonly called a “quarter”)
  • $1  ($1.00) - One Dollar (commonly called a “loonie”)
  • $2  ($2.00) - Two Dollars (commonly called a “toonie”)
