Avoid Being Phished!

  • Do not Give Up Personal Information - The UofM will not ask for your password by email
  • Do not Click Links without Checking - Mouse over links to see the actual destination.
  • Do not Open Unexpected Attachments - Malware, Viruses, and Scams are common.

Don’t Let Your Device be the Weak Link

  • Maintain a clean device free of malware with regular system checks.
  • Update your security software, browsers and operating system
  • Restrict access with a password, pin and encrypt your external drives and USB storage.
  • Beware of unknown or untrusted networks.
  • Learn the privacy settings of your social media apps and be comfortable with what you share.
