Fort Garry Orientation

  • September 5 & 6, 2017, Fort Garry Orientation

Designed for new undergraduate students, these welcoming sessions provide vital academic skill-building discussions, tips for academic success, and campus tours, as well as the opportunity to meet and connect with your fellow students before classes begin. Orientation is one of the largest events on campus, involving over 6,000 students, staff and volunteers–you definitely don’t want to miss it!


Residence Student Orientation

The following events are scheduled for new and returning residence students:

  • September 2 - New Resident Move-In
  • September 3 - Returning Resident Move-In, New Resident Orientation, Residence Parents Orientation

Bannatyne Campus Orientation

  • August 28 - September 1, 2017, Brodie Atrium

Students on the Bannatyne Campus are invited to join us for food, presentations and prizes, presented by University of Manitoba Students' Union, Health Science Graduate Students' Association, Graduate Students' Association, Recreation Services, Student Life and Services for Students at Bannatyne Campus.

The Faculty of Health Sciences Community Tour will be held in the Fall.


International Student Orientation

  • August 29 and 30, 2017, Fort Garry Campus

The International Centre offers orientation sessions to help new international students with their transition to Canada and the U of M. Learn more about the supports we offer, meet new friends, and discover more about your new home.

Sessions are offered at the start of the Fall, Winter and Spring / Summer terms.


Graduate Student Orientation

  • Tuesday, September 5 and Wednesday, September 6, 2017, Fort Garry Campus

All new graduate students are invited to attend sessions over these two days to meet fellow students, learn more about the Faculty of Graduate Studies and the Graduate Students' Association, and get oriented with the U of M campus.


If you're a new student at the U of M, be sure to check your email and mailbox over the summer for information on Orientation events! Please note that individual faculties may have their own independent orientation sessions and events.
