A Message From The President (2007/2008)
My name is Scott Roehl and I'm most honoured to represent the University of Manitoba Marketing Association as President for the 2007/2008 school year. Along with the Vice-President Kelly Lauber and our Executive committee comprised of Amanda Wittick, Izabella Veress, Jayne Keller, and Bryce Matlashewski, we are all looking forward to another great year of UMMA!
As an organization and student group, we are committed to extending the learning and experience of being apart of the Asper School of Business. As young marketers in training, we're very much interested in seeing our members grow professionally, and become more knowledgable in the ever-growing field of marketing.
To achieve our goals, we offer a number of opportunities both professionally and socially that are geared at interaction and getting our members involved. This year, we're proud to have: an expanded mentorship program, the return of our advertising competition, the 2nd Annual UMMA Corporate Wine & Cheese, delegate spots for QMAC 2008, and themed member meetings complete with speakers from the marketing community. Of special note, we're also moving forward on a brand new charity initiative, raising funds on behalf of Special Olympics Manitoba. This will include the special UMMA Charity Masquerade Social, which is sure to be popular!
I personally implore all students to become a member of UMMA! You certainly will not regret it. And as always, please feel free to contact anyone on the Executive, including myself if you have any comments, concerns, or questions. We're always happy to listen. All the best for another great school year!
Best regards,
Scott Roehl
President
