UMMA Cares

When this new initiative was first conceived, we wanted to find a way as ambassadors of UMMA and the Asper School of Business to give back to the community. After careful consideration, we wanted to partner with a local organization where we could contribute back by raising funds on their behalf

We are very pleased to announce that UMMA has partnered with Special Olympics Manitoba for the second year in a row. We are very appreciative of Lisa Tinley, Vice-President of Marketing & Development and the whole Special Olympics organization who are excited to have us work with them. Last year, events run by UMMA raised $1200 for Special Olympics Manitoba, helping to enrich the lives of Manitobans with an intellectual disability through sport.

Special Olympics Manitoba is a not for profit organization, registered as a Manitoba charity, that acts as the Manitoba chapter of Special Olympics Canada. SOM would not be possible without the help of over 1000 volunteers. If you want to get involved as a volunteer with SOM, contact Kelly Quigley at kquigley@specialolympics.mb.ca.

As a student group, we hope our members get involved by either attending one of our charity fundraising events, or helping out. All of our events will be open to all students and interested parties. At the end of the day, Special Olympics is a very worthy organization, and we want to do the most we can for them.
