Withdrawal and Refund Policies


A student unable to attend the course, must request an official withdrawal in writing to elc@umanitoba.ca or in person at the ELC Office- 520 University Centre.

Students who do not officially withdraw and stop attending the course will fail the course, with no refunds given.


A student unable to attend the course and wanting a refund, must withdraw by sending an email to elc@umanitoba.ca before the start of the course. This will be subject to the following policy:
        • Less $10 for withdrawal fee
        • No refunds will be granted after the first class has been completed


The ELC reserves the right to cancel any course if registration is insufficient. Students will be notified of any cancellations via email and will be given the option to defer to another course or get a full refund.

In the case of a course cancellation, students may register for another course in the current term provided the new course has space available. The registration fee will be transferred to the new course. Students must contact ELC by email at elc@umanitoba.ca, phone at 204-474-9251 or in person at 520 University Centre to request this.
