World-renowned astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson is coming to the University of Manitoba! In his first lecture at a Canadian university, Tyson, a Knight Distinguished Visitor, will be introduced by General Walter Natynczyk, president of the Canadian Space Agency and former Chief of the Defence Staff. Tyson and Natynczyk are also special guests at the 2014 Emerging Leaders Dinner, where 75 U of M student trailblazers will be honoured with the Emerging Leader Award.

A pioneer in science literacy, astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson will forever change the way we look at the beauty and grandeur of the universe. Get valuable insight into how scientists work in and think about the social, political and physical world. With wit, charm and eloquence, you'll hear the captivating story of a boy from the Bronx who, with a pair of binoculars, first looked up into the night sky and grew up to be the world's most beloved scientist.
