Counselling Facilities

The Student Counselling and Career Centre facilities include offices and recording equipment for interns, group rooms, a family room, observation rooms equipped with video and audio sound recording equipment, a library, a testing room, two large classrooms and a self-help and Career Resource Centre. Our reception area was renovated in 2000.


CAREER SERVICES

This centre (completely renovated in the fall of 2008) is among the most highly utilized services provided by the Student Counselling and Career Centre. Scores of students utilize this centre on a daily basis, and its website has garnered international recognition and awards. Interns may refer students to these services as a part of the career counselling process.


COMPUTER FACILITIES

The Student Counselling and Career Centre has complete computer resources, including a local area network and and internet access. We also have in-house computerized scoring for a variety of psychological and vocational tests. Our administrative and support staff use InTouch to manage client data and counsellor daily activity schedules. Interns have networked computers in their offices with full access to the university's computer resources, including PsycINFO, World Wide Web and Thundebird e-mail client.  Interns have webcams for videotaping client sessions for clinical supervision.  They also have access to an LCD/data projector for assistance with a variety of presentations.


LIBRARY

In addition to the university library resources available on campus, the Student Counselling and Career Centre maintains its own library of professional journals, textbooks, professional reports and policy papers.
