Career Planning Services
For help with career decision-making, finding career information and finding work, alumni are invited to visit our student pages. Information on the linked pages is relevant for alumni who are career planning, re-careering or seeking employment and/or volunteer opportunities.
Unfortunately, due to the strong demand for career counselling, only recent Alumni (those that graduated within six months) can receive career counselling or take part in career inventories. If you are recent alumni and would like to access these services, contact us at 204-474-9456.
Career Services recently created several Webshops focused on helping students and alumni find work. Check out our webshops.
Job Postings and Volunteer Opportunities
Post jobs or volunteer opportunities with us for free! If interested, check out our employer webpage. This is a great opportunity to connect with highly qualified and motivated job seekers.
Alumni are also invited to register on our Job Postings and Volunteer Opportunities portal to view job and volunteer postings, as well as receive notification of Career Services events. Employers that post opportunities with us are often interested in connecting with alumni, in addition to current students.
Career Mentor Program
Career Services offers a Career Mentor Program to connect students with industry professionals; our goal is to help students learn more about occupations and industries of interest. The Career Mentor Program is an excellent and time efficient way to stay connected to the University of Manitoba. Check out the Career Mentor Program webpage.
Career Fairs and Other Special Events
Alumni are invited to attend as a visitor or participate as an exhibitor in one of our Career Fairs. As a visitor, you can connect with employers from Winnipeg, Manitoba and Canada and learn about exciting opportunities. As a exhibitor or participant, you can connect with thousands of students and promote your company or organization. Our website homepage lists upcoming events and fairs including our annual January Career Fair. More information about our career fairs.
Alumni are also invited to facilitate an employer or occupational information session. Your willingness to share your career experiences are invaluable to students making career decisions and the opportunity to represent and promote your company/business to a new workforce is invaluable! Check out our Employers webpage for more information.
Cooperative Education and Internships
Interested in developing a more formal partnership with the University of Manitoba? Creating a Cooperative Education or Internship placement may be ideal. These placements connect employers with high achieving and motivated students on a year-round basis. Check out our Coop and Internship page for more information.
