Definitions
- Page Requests

- Requests
- Represents the number of requests made for all files (graphics, web pages, PDF files, etc.) on the server
- Web Pages
-
We define a web page as any file that ends with .html, .shtml, .htm, .shtm,
.pl, .php, .asp, .pdf, .cfm and a directory request with no file name
- Web Site
-
Represents a specific directory on our server, an example is the faculties web site which lists all
the various faculties
Time Period
Each report will indicate the time period it covers, indicated by the line "Analyzed requests from".
You may notice that when you look at some of our reports which span a month, week or day that this line
does not cover the full period that the report was for. This is because Analog
determines the time period as being from the first request for the site that the report
covers, to the last. For many reports it is very possible that the first request for anything from that
site was not until part way through the day.

The general summary gives us a quick breakdown on the activity of the site. Depending on the report
that was requested for a site you may not see all these entries for the general summary.

no baring on the site's statistics
- Data transferred
-
This represents the amount of data transferred for the site
- Averages per day
(successful requests, requests for pages, data transferred)
-
Based on the report's time period this number is the daily averages. If the report spans
less then a day, and you notice that the average is higher then the total requests for the day, this is normal.
The reason being is if a report only spans 12 hours, and there were 100 requests over that 12 hour period,
the ideal average for a day would be 200 requests.
Typically you will not see daily averages in weekly or daily reports however their are custom reports
where you may see these averages.
