Protocols may be submitted for ethics at any time. If the research involves minimal risk and does not require a full board review, the review process can be completed normally within three to five weeks. If, however, the protocol requires full board review, it must be submitted before the submission deadline of the relevant REB.
All new study submissions must be submitted electronically to firstname.lastname@example.org. Please use the original electronic versions. Scans will not be accepted, with the exception of for the Checklist for New Studies.
Failure to provide all relevant documentation, in a clear and concise manner, will result in the application being returned to the submitter.
There have been recent changes to our forms. It is very important that researchers use the new forms/templates. As of June 1, 2018, we will only accept the forms below.
For University of Manitoba faculty and students, submissions will only be accepted from a valid UM account. The Checklist for New Studies must include the Principal Investigator’s signature. For student projects, the advisor’s signature must also be present.
