Research Ethics Board - Forms, Templates & Guidelines (Fort Garry)

Protocols may be submitted for ethics at any time. If the research involves minimal risk and does not require a full board review, the review process can be completed normally within 15 working days. If, however, the protocol requires full board review, it must be submitted before the submission deadline of the relevant REB.

Submissions emailed from a valid UM account do not require a signature on the title page. Student researchers should ensure that their Research Supervisor indicates his or her approval of the application by either (a) sending a separate email to this effect or (b) faxing a signed copy of the title page.  Student applications will not be considered without such approval.

There have been recent changes to the Tri-Council Policy Statement, and our forms and templates have accordingly changed to reflect these. It is very important that researchers use the new forms/templates, especially the inclusion of new wording relating to quality assurance requirements.
