The College of Rehabilitation Sciences has hosted two Kiga mamo anokimin onji minoayawin/ Ka mamawi atoskatenow minoyawinretreats with a third one scheduled for spring 2019.
The first one took place on Dec. 18, 2017 at the Viscount Gort Hotel and involved community members from Bloodvein, Brokenhead, Lake Manitoba, Norway House, Pinaymootang and Misipawistik along with 30 faculty members and staff from the college. The community goals based on service, education and research were established and action plans created. This led to the start of a number of projects, some which have been completed while others are ongoing.
The second retreat took place on March 19, 2018. At this session, the communities and the college worked together to find solutions to common prevalent themes.
With the third installment of the Kiga mamo anokimin onji minoayawin retreat right around the corner, we look forward to our continued joint venture of progression.
