Registration and login are required to submit items online and to check the status of current submissions.

Author Guidelines

Please submit papers in electronic format only, using the upload facility on this website. Your paper should be saved in MS-Word or in RTF format.

Formatting is as follows:

• Times New Roman, 12 pt font
• Single-spaced
• 1-inch margins all around

Length is limited to 25 pages, including references.

Images should NOT be embedded in the document, but submitted separately on the upload page. Images and figures should be original, or copyright permission should have been obtained from the original author or copyright holder.

Referencing should follow the style guide of the American Anthropological Association (http://www.aaanet.org/publications/guidelines.cfm). In-text references should be given as (author date) for a “general idea”, and (author date:page) for a direct quote. Three or more authors should be cited as (primary author et al. date). In the bibliography: authors (date). title. city, publisher.

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

1. The submission file is in Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
2. Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
3. The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and datasets are uploaded separately, but referenced within the text.
   
4. The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.

Authors who publish with this journal agree to the following terms:

1. Authors retain copyright and grant the journal right of first publication with the work simultaneously licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution License that allows others to share the work with an acknowledgement of the work's authorship and initial publication in this journal.


2. Authors are able to enter into separate, additional contractual arrangements for the non-exclusive distribution of the journal's published version of the work (e.g., post it to an institutional repository or publish it in a book), with an acknowledgement of its initial publication in this journal.
