User's Guide
Navigation
The components of the CD can be found by progressing through the top and side navigation menus provided on each page. The CD content has been divided into several main sections, with links to these sections across the top of each page. Within each section there are several topics which can be accessed through the navigation bar on the left side of the screen.
Links
Within the content of the CD are links providing additional information that may be of interest to the user.
Links to pages contained within the CD, or internal links, appear in green font (example: Important Notices). Clicking on internal links will take the user directly to the linked page without opening a new browser window. To return to the original page, click on the “Back” button of the browser.
Links to web pages, or external links, appear in blue font (example: Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada). Once an external link has been visited, it will appear in purple font. Using external links requires the user to be connected to the internet. Clicking on an external link will open the linked web page in a new browser window. To return to the CD-ROM page previously being viewed, close or minimize the new browser window displaying the linked web page.
Printable Versions
A printer-friendly version of each page can be accessed by clicking on the “Printable Version” link near the top right of the screen. The printable version contains the content of each page without navigation bars or large images. The printable version of the page will open in a new window. To print the page, press the “Print” button in the browser. After printing is complete, close the printable version window to return to the CD content.
Access to English and French Versions
Selecting “English” or “French” on the index page will take the user into the CD content in that language. To switch languages after starting to view the CD content, click on the link to the other language in the Site Map. This link will open the “Home” page in the other language.
