(One's) History in Fiction
Papers on autobiographical fiction are of special interest

A Session on Crime Writing has also been proposed
Papers on ANY topic in Literature or Linguistics are welcome.

Presentations by LCMND Members "in good standing" may be submitted for publication in the
LCMND e-Journal

SUBMISSION DEADLINE: August 31, 2006

The 49th meeting of the Linguistic Circle of Manitoba & North Dakota will be held at the University of Winnipeg, MB, on Th, Friday & Saturday, October 12-14, 2006.
Proposals*** for papers, accompanied by an abstract of up to three pages suitable for publication in the LCMND Proceedings, may be sent to any of the LCMND officers listed below, and in particular, to 2006 President Elizabeth Dawes, UW.

***Only members in good standing may present a paper at the conference. If your 2006 dues have not yet been paid, please send them to LCMND Secretary/Treasurer Alan MacDonell as soon as possible, along with your membership information solicited on the form below.

The program normally includes papers on a wide range of literary, cultural, historical, didactic, or linguistic topics. Ideally, presentations are timed to take 20 minutes for delivery, but must not exceed 25 minutes.
Please note that only Members of the Linguistic Circle in good standing (i.e., whose membership dues have been paid) may present papers. To achieve good standing, send a cheque made out to the Linguistic Circle of Manitoba and North Dakota to the Secretary-Treasurer. Include the membership information indicated below.
Confirmation that your proposal has been accepted for this year's LCMND Program will be sent upon receipt of the annual membership fee. Preregistration forms, information on hotel accommodations & other local arrangements will be provided in a timely manner at this website.
