Call for Papers for the 2004 LCMND Conference


Proposal, Titles & Abstracts to be submitted by September 15, 2004

The 47th meeting of the Linguistic Circle of Manitoba & North Dakota will be held at the University of Manitoba, Man., on Saturday & Sunday, October 23-24, 2004. Proposals*** for papers, accompanied by an abstract of up to three pages suitable for publication in the LCMND Proceedings, should be sent to one of the LCMND officers listed below, in particular, President Enrique Fernandez, UM, by September 17, 2004.

NOTA BENE: Beginning with the 2003 LCMND Conference in Grand Forks, the usual days of FRIDAY & SATURDAY for the Circle's Annual Conferences were CHANGED to SATURDAY & SUNDAY!

Only members in good standing may present a paper at the conference. If your 2004 dues have not yet been paid, please send them along to LCMND Secretary/Treasurer Elizabeth Dawes as soon as possible, with the membership information below.

The program normally includes papers on a wide range of literary, cultural, historical, didactic, or linguistic topics. Ideally, presentations are timed to take 20 minutes for delivery, but must not exceed 25 minutes.
Please note that only Members of the Linguistic Circle in good standing (i.e., whose membership dues have been paid) may present papers. To achieve good standing, send a cheque made out to the Linguistic Circle of Manitoba and North Dakota to the Secretary-Treasurer. Include the membership information indicated below.
Confirmationthat your proposal has been accepted for this year's LCMND Program will be sent upon receipt of the annual membership fee. Preregistration forms, information on hotel accommodations & other local arrangements will be provided in a timely manner at this website.
