excerpt:

Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house
Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse.

This large format picture book displays Mary Engelbreit’s decorative artistic interpretation of the classic Christmas poem. From the cheery bespectacled Santa Claus on the cover to his elfin “Spock-eared” helpers, this rendition abounds with nostalgic good cheer, clean clear colours and charming characters. Each double page spread is surrounded with a gold and red striped border, and Clement C. Moore’s name always appears in candy cane striped lettering which adds to the playfulness of the design.

Children and fans of Mary Engelbreit will enjoy poring over all the details in each scene. This book contains bowlfuls of visual delights and will be enjoyed by a wide audience at holiday story times.

Highly Recommended.
