They call him the "Quad King" for good reason. No other man on earth has so totally mastered the difficult four-revolution jumps as U. S. skater Tim Goebel (pronounced Gable). Watching Tim land quads is simply amazing.

This attractive and very readable photo-biography profiles current international figure skaters. Each one- page biography details vital statistics and career wins. The text presents an informal description of the skater's strongest ice maneuvers, personal quotes and information. A full - page color photo of the skater is displayed on the right hand page. The skaters profiled are mainly pairs couples and include Anissina and Peizerat, Berezhnaya and Sikharulidze, Bourne and Kraatz, and Pelletier and Sal. The men skaters profiled are Eldredge, Goebel, Plushenko, Sandhu, Stojko and Yagudin. The women skaters are Hughes, Kwan and Slutskaya.

Barb McCutcheon is a professional photographer who has been photographing skating stars for a number of years. She has written a number of articles on skating, and her lively writing style will appeal to young fans of skating. The interior photos are of a high quality and were taken by McCutcheon and other photographers. They all appear to have been taken at a Skate Canada event, and they all show a dramatic moment or expression. The cover photo does not have the same definition as the sharp interior mini-posters. Children will enjoy the inclusion of addresses for contacting favourite skating stars and information on new and emerging stars.
