CM . . . . Volume XVII Number 30 . . . . April 8, 2011
Egyptian Treasures is a chapter book that describes many of the technical inventions of ancient Egypt, including harvest tools and weapons. Chambers also introduces readers to pyramids and the artifacts found within ancient tombs. She does so using many colour photographs to illustrate the treasures she describes.
The text in this volume is written at a grade 4 level. Younger students will enjoy the photographs and photo captions. The information about hieroglyphics and techniques for measuring time will be of interest to older students. Egyptian Treasures includes a glossary and index for reference, and a page listing websites and books that readers can refer to for more information.
