My Little Miracle is a baby board book, although not exactly a board book for babies despite its sturdy construction and small dimensions. Each of its 12 pages features a photograph of a beautiful baby or a winsome toddler (or a landscape). Accompanying every picture are two lines of text which lead up to a rhyming couplet on the following page. The babies come in all sizes, moods and colours and are quite irresistible. My Little Miracle celebrates the miracle of a new life by taking the reader along on a baby's discovery of the world of nature and emotion.

This little volume of verse and photos would be an appropriate gift for new parents who will no doubt enjoy the universality of babyhood as they compare their own new babe with those in the book. It is a perfect length to use for a cuddle or "cozy-time" session with a one-to-two year old. Older preschoolers (particularly those with younger siblings) as well as the many who are fascinated with babies, will also enjoy looking at this book. Even sharing it with a grabby toddler should be a piece of cake since there will be no worry about its disintegration.

Recommended.
