excerpt:

"'Get this house out of here! Who put this house on the beach?'"

'This is my sand house,' said Matthew. 'I made it for the sand contest.'

'HA!' said the judge. 'I know a real house when I see one, and there are no real houses allowed on the beach.!'

internal art

While on holiday, Matthew enters a sandcastle contest where he builds a sand house that is so lifelike the judges believe it to be real and demand that Matthew remove it from the beach.

Collaborating with illustrator Michael Martchenko once again, Munsch creates a silly tale in his familiar style of simplicity and repetition. Munsch fans will likely wish to add this to their collection. However, the story does not flow smoothly in spots, making it less memorable and rhythmic than many other Munsch works. Nevertheless, children familiar with Munsch and Martchenko will likely enjoy this book.

Recommended.
