I'M LOCKER 145, WHO ARE YOU?
Volume 13 Number 4
Jodi Quinn, feeling lost and alone at Bethune High School, blames her father for causing a trial separation that results in Mother and Jodi living with Grandma, while brother Teddy and Father stay at home, three hour's drive away. Desperately seeking friendship, Jodi answers a question scribbled on her science desk, thus beginning an association with reform school graduate, Mike Gidden, who wishes for acceptance in the community.Confidante Brenda offers not only friendly advice, but Jodi's telephone number to Mike to speed the relationship. Mike's persistant claims that he has changed convinces Jodi to trust him and help him in his quest for justice. In this fast moving, easy-to-read tale the teenage characters are realistically portrayed and develop as the predictable plot unfolds, but the adults appear wooden. While this work cannot be classed as the novel of the year, it does have therapeutic appeal to uprooted teenagers in search of friendship.
