The unique challenges and inequalities facing Indigenous peoples will be the subject of a special report delivered by a noted Australian researcher on March 26 at the University of Manitoba’s Bannatyne Campus.
Dr. Lisa Jamieson of the University of Adelaide’s Indigenous Oral Health Unit will deliver a special report that discusses these challenges and the burdens they place on adults and children within these underserved groups.
Jamieson will also discuss how to increase awareness of these issues and how oral health research can assist in advocating for and shaping oral health policy.
These discussions should prove interesting and enlightening in particular for those who have similar population groups within their area.
The Faculty of Dentistry at the University of Manitoba, in conjunction with the Manitoba Institute of Child Health, invites media members to attend and be a part of this interesting and relevant discussion.
