Christopher Adams is the new Rector of St. Paul’s College

The University of Manitoba is pleased to announce that Christopher Adams has been appointed Rector of St. Paul’s College at the University of Manitoba for a five year term period from July 1, 2012 to June 30, 2017.

Adams holds a doctorate from Carleton University and two degrees from the University of Manitoba as a member of St. Paul’s College. He began his market research career in Toronto with Goldfarb Consultants and then moved to Winnipeg in 1997 to be Vice President with the Angus Reid Group. Since 2004, Adams has worked with Probe Research Inc. and most recently as the firm’s Vice-President.

Adams holds an Adjunct Professorship with the Department of Political Studies at the University of Winnipeg as well as an Adjunct Professorship within the I.H. Asper School of Business’ Masters of Business Administration program.

A maverick among politicos, Adams challenges statements and opinions in the areas of behavioural sciences, politics, history, Aboriginal affairs and business. He is the author and co-editor of two peer-reviewed books and of several book chapters. His scholarly work is widely disseminated through refereed journals, research publications, scholarly conference presentations, syndicated publications and research studies. He is a frequent guest on CBC, Global TV and CITY-TV.

Adams is an active contributor to the community at large and is a member the Blessed Sacrament Parish in Winnipeg. From 2003 to 2008, he served on the Board of the Pregnancy and Family Support Services, a Catholic sponsored agency and in 2009 he provided expertise to help secure federal funds to build a third floor for the Holy Names House of Peace building.
