At noon on Friday, March 23, 2012, the ten finalists from the most ambitious University of Manitoba competition ever will learn who will win the grand prize in the Define Your Future contest.

The winner will choose between a trip to the Arctic to work with University of Manitoba researchers there, to India to work alongside our HIV/AIDS researchers in that country, or to New York City to see the University of Manitoba’s impact on global human rights initiatives.

The Define Your Future contest asked participants to submit a video where they defined who they were: a visionary, a trailblazer or even a rebel. Many excellent videos were submitted, each one highlighting students’ own reasons why they believed they have what it takes to succeed.

In University Centre, starting at 11:30 am on Friday, March 23, 2012, the finalists will be joined by Billy the Bison, who will be handing out special prizes and free popcorn, while 101.5 UMFM will be broadcasting music. Then, the grand prize winning video will be showcased for all to see, followed by the announcement and introduction of the grand prize winner.

In addition to the grand prizes, secondary prizes include:

• Spend a day with a local business leader
• On-Set film experience with Guy Maddin
• A private house concert with the Marcel A. Desautels Faculty of Music
• New stadium experience including tickets to the Bombers season opener
• Student experience package with an iPad, gym membership & books
