Media Advisory: Freezing for Charity

dsc_3745-1.JPGFifty-five costumed Asper School of Business students will raise money for the charitable organization the United Way by jumping into an ice-cold pool on November 10.

The event is dubbed “Chillin’ for Charity” and it’s tied to the JDC West business competition, which is being held in Saskatoon, Sask., this year. JDC West competitions are focused on humanitarian leadership and have been raising money for charity since its inception in 2006. The U of M’s team – Team Toba — hopes to raise over $20,000 this year.

When: Wednesday, November 10, 2010 at 12:00 p.m. (The jumpers will first meet on the main floor of the Asper School of Business building and then walk across campus at 11:45 a.m. to the pool erected outside St. John’s College. The students will present their cheque at 11:55 and begin jumping at noon.)
