The International Centre for Students and the World W.I.S.E. Resource Centre have once again collaborated with a variety of partners to present International Development Week events on the U of M campus from February 8 through 12th.
International Development Week (IDW) is an annual event held in February that allows Canada’s development community to showcase its work.
Many events are being held across campus to celebrate IDW. For instance, the Beyond Our Borders Film Festival features seven movies such as Sin Nombre, Running Guns (The Devil’s Bargain), and Earthkeepers. The movies are screened on February 10 at 5:30 p.m. in the Engineering Atrium and Lecture Halls on the Fort Garry Campus.
On Thursday, Feb. 11, Naser Faruqui, Director of Innovation, Policy and Science at the International Development Research Centre in Ottawa will present a lecture on Water Scarcity, Climate Change and Food Security. It will begin at 3:00 p.m. in room E2-229 of the Engineering building.
