What does treaty governance mean for Canadians and Indigenous Peoples? Indigenous nations never gave up their right to self-government by signing a treaty. Rather, treaties affirmed the rights and responsibilities of all nations to govern in this shared territory. Please join Dr. Kiera Ladner as she shares with the public how we are all treaty peoples in the Bringing Research to Life Speaker Series.
Dr. Ladner is professor in the department of political studies at the University of Manitoba and is a Canada Research Chair in Indigenous Politics and Governance.
